ViparSpectra XS1000 LED Grow Light Product Review
The introduction of marijuana laws has created a new breed of cannabis cultivator — the recreational home grower.
Unlike the commercial cannabis grower, recreational home growers harness small areas to grow enough cannabis for their needs — whether they are medical or recreational.
Today, we’re going to take a sneak-peek and review the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED — the home cultivator’s new best friend for growing marijuana indoors.
First Impressions — Unboxing The ViparSpectra XS1000 LED
The recently released ViparSpectra XS1000 LED is something we couldn’t wait to get our hands on.
After a few days of waiting — our dream came true, and the discreet package of the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED arrived.
Upon unboxing, we were satisfied (as usual with ViparSpectra) with the professional packing job. The XS1000 was completely secured, and there wasn’t any damage during shipping.
Once we pulled out the LED, we were delighted with the overall weight, finish, and design. Everything, from the slick chrome finish to the array of diodes, looked high-quality.
Once unboxed, it was time to see what the ViparSpectra XS1000 was made of.
We can’t stress how convenient the ViparSpectra XS1000 is. Remember, there is no assembly required because the entire unit is a seamlessly integrated design.
The only responsibility on our end was to plug the LED system into a suitable socket. Once plugged in — a blast of intense PAR light illuminated the entire room.
The XS1000 LED is ViparSpectra’s smallest XS model. However, we felt that the light coming from the XS1000 was comparable to that of the recently reviewed XS1500 model.
What’s Inside The ViparSpectra XS1000 LED Grow Light System
Next, let’s take a look at the internals of the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED.
Similar to ViparSpectra’s other LED units, the XS1000 harnesses the power of Samsung’s LM301B diodes.
The LM301B diodes are less prone to burning out, and so far, we haven’t found any dead diodes after running the system for hours on end.
Furthermore, the onboard diodes provide a cascade of PAR lighting. From 5,000 K to 660 nm — the LM301B diodes pack the perfect color spectrum for cannabis plants.
Mean Well LED Driver
When you want efficiency — there’s nothing like Mean Well’s HLG LED driver.
The numbers don’t lie and Mean Well’s HLG driver provides 94% efficiency, greater than 50,000 lifetime hours, and low weight. In other words, the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED is an optimized grow light that’s meant to last.
Passive Cooling Mechanism
Unlike other LED grow light systems, the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED harnesses a passive cooling mechanism to deter heat build-up.
Instead of using a noisy fan, the XS1000 utilizes real heat sinks that efficiently dissipate heat in a snap. Therefore, the XS1000 runs silent and dumps heat effortlessly.
Last but not least is the onboard dimming switch on the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED.
In our opinion, a grow light must have a dimming switch. This is because of the various growth stages that cannabis cultivators encounter during the marijuana lifecycle.
From seedlings to flowering cannabis plants — a dimming switch allows growers to customize the lighting intensity. Ultimately, the XS1000’s dimming switch enables growers to use this LED from germination to harvest.
Who The ViparSpectra XS1000 LED Is For
As it stands, the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED is marketed as the perfect light for a 2.5′ x 2.5′ space.
In other words, the ViparSpectra XS1000 LED grow light is ideal for home gardeners that grow marijuana in closets or small grow tents. However, growers can purchase multiple units to cover a larger grow area.
Overall, the light footprint covers 2.5′ with relative ease from our experience. However, larger areas may experience less efficient light coverage — especially the outer zones.
Ultimately, we’re thrilled by ViparSpectra’s new family member — the XS1000 LED grow light.
From the moment we turned the XS1000 on, we knew that this LED grow light is top-quality. From its intense PAR lighting to its 3-year warranty, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this capable LED to any cannabis cultivator.
Whether you grow cannabis in a small space or you desperately want to lower your electricity bills, the ViparSpectra XS1000 is a beautiful and powerful LED system in a small package.
If you’re ready for high-quality LED lighting that won’t break the bank, look no further than ViparSpectra’s capable XS1000 LED grow light today!
